What is Permanent Residence?
A permanent residence visa is one which allows he holder to stay in Australia permanently to live, work and study as they choose. In most cases, permanent residents have equal opportunities to employment, education, housing and healthcare as a full Australian citizen.
How can I get Permanent Residence?
There are 3 main ways a foreign national can obtain their permanent resident status in Australia;
- As a business investor.
- As a skilled worker.
- Through a spouse or Australian family relative.
In order to apply for a visa under any one of these streams, each candidate must meet the qualifying criteria for each. If you are qualified, you may then apply for a visa, however there is no guarantee that you will be accepted just because you qualify. In most cases you will need to be invited to apply for a visa by a state, company or individual that will support your application.
